Steven Pelech is one of the founding scientists of the immunology-based institute, The Biomedical Research Centre, at the University of British Columbia (UBC), a founder and president of Kinetek Pharmaceuticals Inc. from 1992 to 1998, and the founder, president, and chief scientific officer of Kinexus Bioinformatics Corporation. He has authored more than 250 scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters about cell communication systems important for immune function and implicated in the pathology of cancer, diabetes, and neurological and immunology-related diseases. Over the last three years, Dr. Pelech has led a clinical study of four thousand participants to monitor their antibody levels to the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Christopher A. Shaw is a full professor whose research focuses on ALS as well as neurotoxicity of aluminum from various sources, particularly in the form of vaccine adjuvants.
