Driving along an isolated country road with Cyrus, the hound dog in tow, Joe glimpses movement in the woods bordering the road. Joe pulls over to investigate, and Cyrus bolts out the door and leads him to three children clustered together-- bedraggled, silent, and scared out of their wits.
